City Police Traffic confiscates 258 motorcycle mufflers in two months

A total of 258 unauthorized mufflers use in motorcycle seized

PAGADIAN CITY (October 2, 2014-MPF News) The Pagadian City Police Traffic Operatives had confiscated a total of 258 motorcycle unauthorized mufflers in two moths operations from August to September 2014, City Police Official said.

City Police Chief Supt. Glenn M. Dulawan said the confiscation of unauthorized mufflers use in motorcycle was conducted following the implementation of Pagadian City Ordinance No. 2014-344 or otherwise known as “An Ordinance Requiring the Installation of Mufflers of Silencers on Vehicle Exhaust System that will emit not more th an 60 Decibels (db) within the Territorial Jurisdiction of the City of Pagadian and imposing Penalties for Violation Thereof.
 
Dulawan said the implementation of this ‘Anti-Noise Pollution Ordinance in the City Of Pagadian started last three months May, June and July through the conduct of Information and Education Campaigned (IEC) before the final implementation last August until today.

For violation of this ordinance following scale or penalties shall be also observed such as: 1st offense – fine of Php1,000 and motor vehicle will be impounded; 2nd offense the fine of Php2,000 and motor vehicle will be impounded; 3rd offense – fine of Php3,000 and motor vehicle will be impounded and a corresponding impounding fee of Php200.00 per day until the muffler is fixed by the owner/operator of the motor vehicle.

“I commended the operatives from the Traffic Section and to other city police operatives who augmented in the implementation of the said City Ordinance for the job well done,” City Police Chief said.
